We are a dinghy sailing club and do not offer 'big boat' cruising.

Our volunteers provide all on-water support. We encourage carers to join us sailing and some have learnt to sail allowing them to partner their participants. Activities are volunteer dependent and thus participation demands advanced notification and confirmation. Any carer support eases our volunteer recruitment challenge. Charges are small with a choice of daily fee (from £5) to Annual Membership (£66pa for single membership .... reduced to £40pa for those distant from Scaling).

We welcome participants advancing their skills, gaining qualifications with potential to participate in our competitive racing activities, competing against our able bodied members.

Our centre in Kielder does lots of outdoor activities but we are not a sports club. We offer adult respite and family/friends holidays. Our site is fully accessible, as are our activities and we pride ourselves on challenging disability through outdoor adventure.

We welcome people with all disabilities including visually impaired – in fact, the first person to complete our High Ropes course was visually impaired. If a guest is coming on Respite they will have carers and support, however, if they come on a self-catering holiday they would need to bring support. We also offer activity days where people can come for the day. All activities are fully supported and our activity team are fully trained.
